Sustainable
development means “meeting the needs of the present generation without
compromising the ability of the future generations to meet their own needs”, as
defined by the World Commission on Environment and Development, but its
application must be rooted in the context of national realities and aspirations.
The essence of sustainable
development is in the harmonious integration of a sound and viable economy,
responsible governance, social cohesion/harmony and ecological integrity to
ensure that development is a life-enhancing process. The ultimate aim of
development is human development now and through future generations.
Literature is a platform in education
for sustainable development in such a way that without this we don’t know what
are we a Filipino people and what are after knowing all that could make us a
real Filipino. In some sense as a Filipino people we ought for our freedom and
for our country as well, we are so bless to have our own literature and to show
the world that Filipino people have. I can relate literature for education it
is because literature is a very important thing need to be cherish by individuals
not only we need this for our study but we need this to know where we came from
and to know what are we. We can treasure this for us to show and to say the
world what we got.
